This page is to help our friend, Patty Abel, find homes for the Border Collies she "rescues". Patty has a heart of gold. She currently has five rescue dogs of her own, all Border Collies or Border Collie Mixes. She always seems to have at least one more "foster" Border Collie around as well. No Border Collie will go unloved, once it has found it's way to Patty's heart. If you are thinking of getting a Border Collie,and you would prefer an older dog or don't have time for a puppy, we would highly recommend Border Collie Rescue to you. We have seen some absolutely wonderful dogs come through rescue. You would be amazed at the reasons people give for getting rid of their pets.... They shed too much I don't want to pay for his shots (really- can you believe it?) They are too active They herd the children Here is the dog currently in Patty's care. Magic       Magic is a chocolate and white nuetered male Border Collie. He was given up at the shelter because his owners didn't want him anymore. When Patty rescued Magic he was still intact, heartworm positive, had two pins in his leg that were poking out of the skin, and was extremely thin. The wonderful people at PAL (Pet Assistance League) have paid to have all of his "problems" fixed, and Magic is doing much better now. I have met Magic, and he is a very sweet dog. He is also what I call a "velcro" dog, he wants to be with you all the time, and leans in to you. He can't get close enough. He gets along well with other dogs. He is a very active Border Collie.
